  My parents had been coming here before I too took my car here, and my parents and I have continued to do so for many years now (more than 10).
  
  They don’t do work that doesn’t need to be done, nor do they do any unplanned work without calling for authority first.
  
  As a woman taking my car to them, I am happy to say that I don’t feel intimidating going there, neither do I feel patronised or taken advantage of. It’s not a shiny, new place, nor a particularly pretty place, but there are clean seats if one wants to wait, a hot-drinks machine, which I think may be free to use but I can’t wait there for work to be done so have never used it. Having said that, I know people who have used it and have told me the coffee is usually good.
  
  In all my dealings with them I can say I’ve never had cause to doubt their honesty or trustworthiness, and I believe their prices are reasonable too. They have, on more than one occasion, gone out of their way to source a good deal on parts for me – once, after discussing with me and getting approval first, they even found a dashboard dial from a scrap-yard for me, otherwise I would have had to go to a dealer and have the entire dashboard panel replaced – at an cost so prohibitive that I wouldn’t have been able to find that sort of money and would have needed to get rid of the car and buy a new one simply because of a dial causing an MOT failure.
  
  I am happy to recommend this garage (and have done more than once), especially to women nervous about taking their cars for an MOT for fear of being taken advantage of. The people I have dealt with there – I think they are the owners as they have been there since well before my parents started going – are professional, friendly and obviously take pride in their work and the good name of the business.
  
  It is always good to book an MOT in advance though, because they are usually very busy, which is of course further confirmation of their reputation.
  
  I am in very poor health and mobility is an issue for me and I’m happy to say that – where staff availability has allowed the time to do so – they have picked up my car and brought it back to me when the work is done. I can’t say how thankful I am to them for this.
